We are now offering complete starter kits to making shopping for your new quilly family member easier! Your supplies will be available for you when you pickup your hedgehog. If you prefer to purchase your supplies we do require a photo of the required supplies before we will schedule a pick up day and time. Providing your hedgehog with the proper supplies and nutrition will help him or her live comfortably and insure the best quality of life.
Popular Cage options:
NOTE: Any cage you choose must have a solid flooring and the minimum of 4 square feet. Glass aquariums are not acceptable because they hold in moisture…Also I do not recommend using cages with multiple levels due to hedgehogs having poor eyesight. Low ramps are okay if the proper precautions are taken. If you choose to uses a ramp, the ramp and upper levels must be enclosed to be sure the hedgehog does not fall and injure himself.
C&C cages are made from storage cube squares and coroplast. They are easy to make yourself or purchase with the coroplast already scored for you. I buy my starter kits from the guinea pig store online. C&C cages should be no smaller than 1x3. They have easy to clean and have plenty of space. I recommend the coroplast to be 9 to 12 inches tall to line the walls to prevent escape artist. A space heater or 2 CHE setups will work for this size C&C.

Heat Source:
Cheap, no name brands tend to fail at a faster rate than reliable reptile brands such as Fluckers or Zoo Med... We highly recommend that you use a reputable product, rather than an off name brand for your safety. To prevent a faulty product we also suggest to keep with the same brand for the CHE bulb and dome, for instance if your Ceramic Heat Emitter is a Flucker's 150 watt, you will want a 8.5" to 10" Flucker's Deluxe Clamp Lamp.

Commerical hedgehog foods are made with poor quality indredients and are not a good source of nutrion for you hedgehog, with the exception of Hedgehog Percision.
